"Eidetic" means "so visually striking as to be unforgettable", a meaning and spelling that are unchanged from the Hellenic Era of Ancient Greece.   Eidetic Technology, Inc., was established in Honolulu in 1981.  Eidetic's initial business was the design, construction, and operation of audio and television studios, and the provision of videoconferencing services.  Eidetic designed and produced the world's first fully interactive, three node, digital videoconference in 1987; Hong Kong, Washington, D.C., and Honolulu were interconnected for three days of events in connection with the PTC 87, the 1987 Annual Conference of the Pacific Telecommunications Council.    Eidetic’s present consultancies include: Web Commerce-based distance education for a U.S.  university in conjunction with the largest private satellite systems operator in Asia; and design and procurement of an "Integrated Internet Digital Network" providing IP-based voice, video, and data services for a master planned community with 15,000 dwellings and a target population of 45,000.
